Mailkeep IP Address changing

The Mailkeep IP delivery address will be changing soon so please update any firewall settings that may be affected.

The previous IP address was 64.46.45.27
The new IP address will be 184.82.210.26

This changeover is planned for Thursday, August 25th 2011. You might not be affected but here are the scenarios where you may have to make a change:

  • You connect to Mailkeep using ODMR, POP3 or ETRN and have specified an IP address instead of a host name (for example, smtp.mailkeep.net)
In this case you will need to find all occurrences of the IP address 64.46.45.27 and replace them with smtp.mailkeep.net.
  • You have Mailkeep deliver mail to you via SMTP on a non-standard port and are subject to a firewall
In most cases where Mailkeep is delivering mail on a non-standard port you will have a firewall rule in place to prevent other servers doing the same thing. In this case you will need to modify your firewall rules and add 184.82.210.26 to any IP restriction that includes 64.46.45.27. Why not replace? So that you will not have to make changes the instant the changeover occurs.
  • Mailkeep is your exclusive mail source and you are limiting incoming port 25 traffic to just our machine using a firewall.
In this case you will need to modify your firewall rules and add 184.82.210.26 to any IP restriction that includes 64.46.45.27. Why not replace? So that you will not have to make changes the instant the changeover occurs.
  • You are using Mailtraq
Mailtraq users are encouraged to add the Mailkeep IP address to their LAN list so that the Mailkeep specific extensions are enabled. Go to Options | Server... | LAN and add the IP address 184.82.210.26 to the IP address list.

You can make the above changes immediately and we recommend you do so well before the changeover so that your mail delivery is not affected.

We apologise for the inconvenience.
